Smart Doll

A Doll That Can Recognize Voices, Identify Objects and Show Emotion. "Hello, my name is Amanda," the doll replied as Ms. Shackelford smiled warmly at its rosy face. "We're going to have the best time together," the doll promised.

Meanwhile, while on the subject, check out Johnny Beinhart's TODDLERPEDES. This dude's work is brilliantly twisted!

Gay Merit Badges

Gay Merit Badges
On June 28, 2000, the Supreme Court decided against James Dale in his case to remain a Boy Scout leader thus legally allowing the Boy Scouts of America to discriminate and exclude homosexuals. We are denied the chance to earn merit badges, so it is time we have our own. How you earn these is experimental, not a rigid code. Wear them with pride and realize we have one thing the leaders of both the BSA and Supreme Court do not have, a sense of humor.

Six Feet Under Finale

n the series finale of Six Feet Under , David finally embraces a demon; Keith gives "tough love"; Nathaniel talks to his younger son; Brenda delivers early and fights Nate's negativity; Claire gets an exciting phone call; Ted inspires some sexy photos; Margaret is impressed to see Olivier's nurturing side; Rico and Vanessa celebrate an investment; Ruth finds consolation in the truth from Maggie; George's limitations eclipse his intentions; and Claire drives into her future.
The whole season is excellent, but this last episode blew me away. The final montage of Claire driving east was incredibly powerful, I was a blubbering mess by the time it ended. Kudos to HBO for producing yet another revolutionary series!

Out of Body Experience

Around 10% of the population have an out-of-body experience (OBE) at some time, typically involving a sensation of floating and seeing the physical body from the outside. It isn't uncommon for people to have more than one OBE, and they may also occur as part of the wider near-death experience some report experiencing in life-threatening circumstances.

Magnetic Peace

PEACE: :Bring Our Troops Home" is a Statement of Hope...
I wanted to do something for our troops and our country. This is why we created the “Bring our Troops Home” (B.O.T.H.) magnetic peace sign.
As a former U.S. Navy, Vietnam-era, Submarine Veteran, and current U.S. Navy civil servant, I feel very deeply the personal sacrifice that our men and women in the military give everyday to our country; I see it in their faces, their uniforms and in our flag. We want to honor them by selling these magnetic peace signs as a fund raiser, to help support some web based support groups that stand behind our troops, and their families.

Alzhemier's vaccine in mice

U.S. researchers said Thursday they have developed a vaccine that appears to reverse the course of Alzheimer's disease in mouse models, and they want to test it in humans as quickly as possible.
Mice given the vaccine showed a significant reduction in the levels of a brain substance called beta-amyloid plaques, which are thought to play a role in causing Alzheimer's.
